R.I.P Sister M. Anne Patricia, O.Carm.

Sister Helena - Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Sister M. Anne Patricia, O.Carm. passed unexpectedly but peacefully to eternal life on the morning of Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in the 68 th year of her religious life.

Marie Julia Ruiz was born on June 28, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts to Benjamin and Anna (nee Murphy) Ruiz. Her father was originally from Guatemala and her mother was a native of Massachusetts. Sr. Anne is survived by her sister, Gloria Eisenhauer, of Lynn Massachusetts.

Sr. Anne Patricia entered the Congregation on August 14, 1952 and received the habit on April 30, 1953. She professed first vows on May 3, 1954 and made her perpetual profession of vows on December 8, 1958. In 1962, Sr. Anne graduated from Manhattan Medical Assistants School as a Laboratory and X-Ray Technician, but throughout her many years in religious life, Sr. Anne’s ministry was mainly in the area of medical records. She was missioned in New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. Her lengthiest assignments were at Carmel Hall, Detroit, MI (1966-1975); Marian Manor, So. Boston, MA (1978-1982); and Teresian House, Albany, NY (1982- 2013). In February 2013, Sr. Anne Patricia was admitted to St. Patrick’s Manor where the Sisters and staff lovingly provided for her physical, mental and spiritual needs.

A very sociable Sister and a real “people person,” for many years Sr. Anne kept in contact with Sisters, family members and friends by frequent letter writing. Although sad at her passing, we rejoice in her happy reunion with Mother Angeline Teresa and our beloved deceased Sisters. May they all join together in imploring Our Lord and His Blessed Mother to send many young women to join us in our Carmelite way of life.
