I was a Lay Carmelite for about 20 years. On one occasion when I went to one of our meetings in Williamson, MA, I had arrived there early. As I was looking at some pamphlets, I saw the pamphlet about the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and I felt something touch my heart. I knew that God was not calling at that time but I felt the need to keep the pamphlet. After some time had passed, I was talking to a friend who was suggesting that I consider entering Religious life and again I felt that certain something touch my heart. Although I wanted to be sure that God was really calling me, I also decided to ignore the feeling and just see what would happen. Well for about a month, God drove me crazy with this persistent thought and I knew I had to act upon it! I finally decided to write the Carmelite Sisters and received a welcoming response. The Vocation Director and I communicated for a time and then Sister suggested that I visit one of the Homes where the Congregation serves. During my visits to the Home, I witnessed first hand the Mission of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and knew I had found my heart's desire. I requested and was granted permission to enter the Congregation which I did on July 16, 2000. My love for God continues to grow each and every day as I serve the person of his Son in those entrusted to our care.
