Foundation Day 2013 celebrations at Garvey Manor included residents, family members and staff gathering for a tribute to Venerable Mary Angeline Teresa with the  focus of the theme the Core Value of ‘Shared Commitment’.   After a video narrative of Mother Angeline’s childhood and early life, residents presented roses, which arranged near Mother’s picture.  After an explanation of the apparition of Our Lady of Knock and the significance to Mother Angeline since it occurred in her native land, Ireland, Staff presented ‘golden’ roses which were arrange near Our Lady’s statue as the hymn to Our Lady of Knock was played.  Refreshments reflective of Mother Angeline’s heritage: Irish Scones, Scottish Shortbread and American Cream Puff along with tea and coffee were enjoyed by all present.

The individual letters of the words ‘SHARED COMMITMENT’ were personalized by staff in various departments of the facility to reflect aspects of their ministry as contributing to the whole.
