About the Pamphlet

It is impossible to visit "Avila", Motherhouse of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm, without wondering, “Who are the Carmelite Sisters? What is their mission?“ The answer is in this brief story of a young Irish girl, so in love with God and His older children, the aged, that she gave her life to His service; but it didn't stop only in her life. She influenced many lives and drew hundreds to follow her example to bring the love of God, peace and security to thousands of aged men and women.

About the Author

Sister Mary Gabriel, O. Carm. has been a Carmelite Sister for the Aged and Infirm for over 70 years. Sister Gabriel worked closely with Mother Angeline Teresa and served many roles including Vocation Director (1954-1978) and Treasurer General (1954-1996/97). Sister Gabriel currently serves on the Commission to promote the Cause for Beatification and Canonization of Mother Angeline Teresa.
